The name Aaron Koblin is often associated with digital arts, technologists, and web arts. He's the man behind The Sheep Market (2006), The Wilderness Downtown (2010), and The Johnny Cash Project (2010). And his latest idea is simple, yet fun amazing drive.
The Single Lane Superhighway is simply a website that lets you draw a car and join the 42,000+ vehicles on the single lane highway. It will surely drive you crazy seeing different automobiles move along. You may also click on any car that passes by and you will see how it was created.
Behind the project is the car insurance company "Progressive". For 30 years, Progressive and their Art Collection commissions a new artist each year to produce a piece for the company. This year, the brand commissioned Mr. Koblin and Bitforms Gallery, who worked with programmer Mr. Doob on the superhighway. On this site, they reflect "the personal bond people have with their automobiles."
Draw your car and join the journey on the superhighway wherever it will go. :)
