Do you really need to be in a
relationship to have a date on Valentine’s Day? Absolutely not. Valentine’s Day
is not just created for couples; it is for everyone who wants to celebrate love
by spending your time with people who matter to you, doing things what you love to do,
or spreading the word of love.
Your family is where you feel
loved and safe all the time. They are your source of happiness and make you
feel comfortable at home after a day of stressful work. Make them feel how
complete you are because of them. Thank your mom, dad, brothers and sisters. No
need for a fancy restaurant because eating together at home is a date like no
other.
Don’t forget to spend time with
your friends. They make your life in work/school happy, inspired, and exciting
everyday. You often share your secrets with them, laugh with corny jokes, or
lean on whenever you feel down. Surprise your friends with a simple,
personalized gift to let them know how special they truly are.
For those who are far from their
loved ones, you can still date your home buddy, which is your pet. Have a
stroll in the park while eating ice cream. Or when the weather is not fine, you
can have a cup of choco and listen to love songs while cuddling your pet. Bond
with your trusted friend which keeps you company at home and make you feel you
are not alone.
When you prefer soul searching mode this Valentine’s Day, go out-of-town together with your perfect date when traveling – your DSLR camera. You will definitely enjoy your me-time as you explore different places, viewing wonderful sceneries, and capture lovely moments with your photography hobby.
If you’re not in the mood to go
out, open your PC or laptop na lang.
Makipagtitigan ka kay monitor, while holding hands with the mouse, and
caress your keyboard. In short, mag-blog
ka na lang. Express your thoughts and
show the world how you really love writing and blogging. It’s a good start for
aspiring writers and famous blogger wannabes.
If you think you can extend love
to other people, participate in charitable works or organizations for those who
are in need. We have many kababayans who
seek help, especially the victims of calamities like the residents of Negros
Occidental and Cebu (who suffered from earthquake), and Cagayan de Oro and Iligan (who are
victims of typhoon Sendong and landslide last year). Let’s relive the concept
of bayanihan, and show this act of
love and kindness to our fellowmen.
And of course, do not forget your
special date with Him. You may not see Him, but you can feel His presence wherever
you go. He loves you so much and He guides you everyday. Talk to Him closely
during your date with Him. Close your eyes, kneel, and pray silently. Say “I
love You” to our Almighty God whose love is the greatest gift of all – sweeter than
chocolates, softer than teddy bear, and more colorful than flowers.
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves." - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Happy Valentine's Day, Fosters! <3
